- Put rhubarb and sugar in a saucepan with a tblsp water. Cook over a medium heat until starting to soften.
- Rub, or chop, the margarine and flour together until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.
- Gently stir in the oats, sugar and nutmeg.
- Place the rhubarb in an oven proof dish and top with the crumble mixture.
- Level top with a fork to leave a pattern of trails.
- Sprinkle a little brown sugar over top.
- Bake for about 15 - 20mins at gas mark 5 / 370°F / 190°C until golden brown.
- Serve straight away with custard, cream, or even ice cream.
